Amazon has announced a new warehouse robot named Vulcan. This robot is designed with the ability to sense or 'feel' some of the objects it comes into contact with.
The Vulcan robot has two arms to move things in Amazon's warehouses. It uses sensors to know when it touches something. One arm moves items, and the other arm, which has a camera and a suction cup, picks things up.
Amazon says their robot, Vulcan, learned from real information, like how strong things are and how they feel. This helps it find about 75% of their products. It can also learn and get better by itself. The robot is now used in Spokane, Washington, and Hamburg, Germany. It has helped with half a million orders already.
Vulcan is the newest robot in Amazon's group of warehouse robots. Amazon has many robots to help with customer orders in its buildings around the world. Some people say Amazon uses robots to replace workers, but Amazon says robots like Vulcan make its warehouses safer.
