Arizona Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur spoke on Monday.

He said Gardner Minshew will be the team's starting quarterback.

Minshew took over for Jacoby Brissett on Sunday.

He led a 14-point comeback.

The Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 in overtime.

LaFleur said Minshew gave the team's beat-up offense a "spark."

Minshew came in late in the third quarter.

He led four touchdown drives in a row.

He finished with 188 passing yards and three touchdowns.

LaFleur praised his pocket movement and accurate throws.

Rookie Carson Beck will be the backup.

Brissett will be the third-string emergency quarterback on Sunday.

The Cardinals play the Seattle Seahawks.

The trade deadline is coming on Nov. 10.

The Cardinals changed Brissett's deal in training camp.

They will pay him $15.5 million this season.

He was pulled on Sunday.

He completed 10 of 23 passes for 117 yards and an interception.

LaFleur said the decision was not easy.

He called it a difficult phone call.

He said he respects Brissett as a person and a player.

He said the problem is collective.

He said it starts with him.

Minshew is 30.

He is on a $5.75 million, one-year deal.

He has a 17-30 record as a starter.

He was a Pro Bowl selection for the Indianapolis Colts in 2023.
