Technology stocks led Wall Street higher on Thursday.
Nvidia, Salesforce, and others reported stronger spring profits than analysts expected.
The S&P 500 rose 0.6%, the Dow gained 187 points, and the Nasdaq climbed 1.2%.
Nvidia was the biggest driver, rising 7.5% after beating profit and revenue forecasts.
It also gave revenue growth guidance above analyst estimates, suggesting strong demand for AI chips.
CEO Jensen Huang said AI has reached its inflection point and is doing useful, profitable work.
This helped ease recent worries that AI stocks had risen too high.
Salesforce jumped 20.2% after saying AI helped deliver one of its best quarters ever.
It beat profit expectations and raised its full-year revenue forecast.
CEO Marc Benioff said demand for AI and data products is incredible.
The company also expanded a partnership to pair Anthropic's Claude chatbot with its platform.
Other results were mixed.
HP fell 5.8% despite beating profit estimates, due to concerns about PC sales and profit margins.
Best Buy dropped 4.4% even after topping expectations, as worries about stretched shoppers persisted.
Dollar General rose 6.3% on strong profit, but Dollar Tree fell 3.1% despite beating forecasts.
In the bond market, Treasury yields held steady after a report showed fewer unemployment claims.
The 10-year yield stayed at 4.66%.
Investors await a Friday speech from Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh.
Oil prices rose slightly to $87.23 a barrel.
Global markets were mixed, with gains in Seoul and Shanghai but a drop in Paris.
