After Israel attacked Iranian targets, the increased violence caused oil prices to rise a lot and stock markets to fall on Friday. This happened because people were worried about possible problems with the world's oil supply and economy. Big stock indexes like the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq composite all dropped a lot, while the price of U.S. crude oil went up by 7.3% to $72.98 per barrel. Even though experts often say that these oil price increases usually go down once things calm down, Wall Street is watching closely. Because of this, companies that need a lot of fuel and depend on people wanting to travel, such as cruise company Carnival and United Airlines, lost a lot of money. On the other hand, U.S. oil companies, defense companies, and gold made money. Despite these changes in the market, inflation is still quite steady, but there are worries it could speed up because of President Trump's tariffs.
