After Israel attacked Iranian targets, violence increased, which caused oil prices to go up and stock values to go down on Friday. This happened because people were worried about the global oil supply and the economy. Big stock indexes like the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq all dropped a lot, while the price of U.S. oil went up by 7.3% to $72.98 per barrel. Experts often say that oil prices usually go down when it's clear the situation won't get worse, but financial markets are watching closely. Companies that use a lot of fuel and depend on people traveling, like Carnival and United Airlines, lost a lot of money. However, U.S. oil companies, defense companies, and gold saw their values go up. Even with these changes, inflation is still quite stable, though some people are concerned it could rise faster because of President Trump's tariffs.
