JetZero, a company from California, plans to build a new factory in North Carolina. This factory will make their new passenger planes and could create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. JetZero plans to invest $4.7 billion in this factory at Greensboro's airport to build their Z4 aircraft. This plane has a special wing design that is expected to use 50% less fuel than regular airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in this project and have agreed to buy the planes if they meet certain conditions. The project also includes a research center for new materials. It might receive over $2.35 billion in funding from the state and local government by the 2060s. JetZero wants its planes to be flying by the early 2030s, making 20 planes each month. Initially, the company will focus on a passenger plane with about 250 seats that can fly 5,000 nautical miles.
