President Donald Trump spoke at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.

He defended his decision to start a war with Iran.

He said Iran is weak and desperate.

He said Iran is not strong.

He also said Iran is waiting until after the U.S. midterm elections to make a deal.

Trump said the election would not change his approach to the conflict.

Most of Iran's delegation walked out during his speech.

At the U.N., Trump also attacked the news media.

He had banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House over the weekend.

Those outlets have sued to get their access back.

Trump told a CNN reporter at the U.N. that the network should not be there covering him.

After his speech, Trump planned to meet with several leaders.

These included British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He was also set to meet Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodríguez.

He planned talks with Gulf Cooperation Council nations about the Iran war.

He also planned to go to an event on the Shield of Americas initiative.

The war has hurt Republicans' hopes in the coming midterm elections.

Trump argued the world is better off under his leadership.

He said he does not let problems grow.

Oil prices remain high because of the war.

Trump said prices will fall once the war ends.

Qatar said mediators are trying to rebuild trust between the U.S. and Iran.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump is open to meeting Iran's president.

Trump was also set to sign a deal.

The deal is about a larger U.S. military presence in Greenland.
