A U.S. official said Tuesday that Chevron will soon say it will do more work in Venezuela.
The official told reporters about the planned news.
They said people from Chevron and Energy Secretary Chris Wright will visit Venezuela on Wednesday.
The new investment will be shown during the visit.
The official did not give their name.
They spoke under rules from the White House.
Chevron is the second-largest U.S. oil company.
It is the only one with a big presence in Venezuela.
The news comes after the White House said Monday it is working with North American Blue Energy Partners.
This is part of President Donald Trump's plan to use Venezuela's oil.
