Romania's Ministry of National Defense says drone incursions went up three times this year.
Last year there were 9.
This year there are 27.
Drones and debris found on Romanian land more than doubled.
It went from 16 to 37.
There were 73 attacks near the border this year.
The attacks were on Ukrainian land.
Military aircraft were sent up 56 times.
Last year there were 28 attacks and 21 aircraft.
In the first year of the war, there was one attack.
In May, a drone hit an apartment building in Galati.
A mother and child were hurt.
Last week, a drone came in from Moldova.
It crossed several counties.
Then it went back into Moldova and crashed in a sunflower field.
Moscow says it did not send combat drones into Romania.
Romania has shot down four drones this year.
This is the first time since the war began.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte spoke on Sept. 2.
He said Russia has become more and more reckless.
Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruta called Russia a main threat to the eastern flank.
He said over 1,000 U.S. troops are in Romania.
He also said Romania has no information that a ground invasion is coming soon.
Romania and Poland got the MEROPS counter-drone system.
Romania also signed a $2 billion air defense contract with an Israeli company.
