Russia attacked nine Ukrainian cities at night.
People in Kyiv heard explosions until Thursday morning.
The Russian Defense Ministry called the attacks "massive."
It said the attacks hit military places.
These places included factories, oil refineries, and port buildings.
Civilian areas were hit too.
Ukrainian officials said two people died.
One was a 78-year-old woman in the Zaporizhzhia region.
At least 14 people were hurt.
In Kyiv, four areas were hit.
Homes, a school, and a medical building were damaged.
No one died there.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia keeps making more missiles.
He said Russia is making the war bigger.
So Ukraine needs more ways to stop it.
He said European countries promised more air defense help.
He asked for more missile defense systems from the United States.
Ukraine's air force said it shot down or stopped seven Russian missiles.
Russia also hit three big distribution centers.
These included storage places for a toy store and a candy company.
A bomb attack forced a power plant in the Kherson region to close.
In Moldova, five drones flew into its airspace at night.
The source of the drones was not named.
Ukraine's General Staff said its own attacks hit Russian command places near Donetsk.
Russia said it shot down 267 Ukrainian drones over 14 regions.
