The U.S. and South Korean militaries ended their yearly exercise on Friday.
It was called Ulchi Freedom Shield.
It ended six days earlier than planned.
President Donald Trump had ordered the drill to be "much smaller" before it started on Monday.
He said this was because of his friendship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
He also said South Korea's position on the Iran war was a reason.
The exercise was first planned for 11 days in two parts.
The second part was about fighting back.
The two countries also agreed to cut the number of joint field training exercises in half.
They went from 14 to seven, South Korea's military said.
Kim Yo Jong is Kim Jong Un's sister.
On Wednesday, she said Trump's gesture was not enough.
She said the smaller drill still had a "provocative, aggressive nature."
The next day, North Korea fired about 10 short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea.
The U.S. Pacific Command said these events were not a quick danger to U.S. land or allies.
Kim Yo Jong's words made hopes lower for new talks between Trump and Kim Jong Un.
Their nuclear talks failed in 2019.
Since then, Kim Jong Un has made his weapons stronger and has worked with Russia.
Kim Yo Jong used careful words.
This suggests North Korea may still want talks later, but it wants bigger things.
These things include being called a nuclear state and having sanctions removed.
