Even though he was confused and had many injuries, he was able to walk to an ambulance. There have been other similar situations in the past where only one person survived such accidents. For example, Cecelia Crocker was the only survivor of a 1987 crash that killed 154 people, including her family, when the plane's wing hit a light pole during takeoff. George Lamson Jr. survived a 1985 crash in Reno, and Bahia Bakari survived a 2009 plane crash near the Comoro Islands. Also, Jim Polehinke was the only person to survive a 2006 plane crash in Lexington, Kentucky.
