Archbishop Timothy Broglio leads Catholic services for the U.S. military.
He is against the planned livestream of an execution.
The prisoner is Nidal Hasan.
He will die by firing squad.
On Monday, Broglio made a statement.
He said Catholic soldiers should ask to leave the firing squad.
He said this duty is against the church's teachings.
Other Catholic leaders also speak against the death penalty.
They also speak against the livestream.
Hasan was an Army doctor.
He killed 13 people in 2009.
This happened at Fort Hood in Texas.
He will die on Dec. 3.
Broglio led the funeral of Michael Grant Cahill.
Cahill was the only civilian killed in the attack.
Broglio asked a question.

He said the crime was very bad.
Broglio also said the U.S. military has a good name in the world.
