Donald Trump might keep control of California's National Guard. These soldiers were sent to Los Angeles after protests about immigration. A court had told Trump to give control back to California's Governor, Gavin Newsom. Newsom did not want the soldiers there. He said Trump used too much power. This case is important because it could change how much power a president has to send soldiers to cities in the U.S. It's the first time since 1965 that a president has used a state's National Guard without the governor's permission. The judges, some chosen by Trump and one by Biden, think presidents have a lot of power in this kind of situation. But they did not agree that courts cannot question Trump's decision. A decision from the judges will come soon.
