For the first time, some parts of Alaska will get a "heat advisory." This new warning from the weather service will tell people when it's very hot and dangerous. Before, they used "special weather statements." The first warning is for Fairbanks, where it will be hotter than 85 degrees Fahrenheit, which is not normal for June. This new warning is not about climate change. It just means that hot weather can affect Alaska, especially where people don't have air conditioning. Right now, only Juneau and Fairbanks use this warning, but Anchorage might use it later. Anchorage is warm, but it's not hot enough yet for a heat warning.
