Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has promised to continue the Trump administration's strict immigration enforcement, even though protests are still happening. This happened after a federal judge issued a temporary order saying it was illegal to send National Guard troops to protests. However, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals later stopped this order. The judge's order only applied to National Guard troops, not Marines, who were sent after protests started because of the immigration crackdown. Governor Gavin Newsom, who wanted an immediate stop to troops helping with immigration raids, praised the judge's order. At the same time, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the president's actions, saying he acted within his legal powers. Protests are still ongoing across the country, with immigration agents in Los Angeles setting an example for other areas. Despite this, Secretary Noem has repeated that federal authorities will not give up.
