Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has said she will continue the Trump administration's tough immigration rules, even though there are still protests. A federal judge had temporarily stopped National Guard troops from being at protests, but a higher court later allowed them to be there. The judge's order only applied to the National Guard, not to the Marines, who were also sent after the protests began. Governor Gavin Newsom, who wanted to stop troops from helping with immigration arrests, supported the judge's first order. However, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said the president's actions were legal and within his power. Protests are still happening around the country, and immigration agents in Los Angeles are showing other places how to protest. Despite this, Secretary Noem has confirmed that federal authorities will not give up their efforts.
