Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has said she will continue the Trump administration's tough immigration rules, even though there are ongoing protests. This occurred after a federal judge temporarily stopped the use of National Guard troops at protests, calling it illegal. However, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals later overturned this decision. The judge's order only applied to National Guard troops, not Marines, who were sent after protests started because of the immigration rules. Governor Gavin Newsom, who wanted an immediate stop to troops helping with immigration arrests, supported the judge's order. Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the president's actions, saying he acted within his legal rights. Protests are still happening across the country, and immigration agents in LA are showing other communities how to protest. Despite this, Noem has confirmed that federal authorities will not give up.
