Many people who worked with Trump, like Noem, said Comey was trying to get people to kill President Trump. Noem said that the people in charge of security are checking this threat and will do what they need to do.

The news company AP said that the word "86" can mean "to get rid of" or "to refuse service," according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. The dictionary also says that "86" can sometimes mean "to kill," but this meaning is new and not very common, so they don't include it.

The post was taken down later. Then, Comey wrote, "I posted a picture of shells I saw on the beach today. But some people thought it was a political message. I didn't know people would connect the numbers to violence."

Komi's first message on social media made some conservatives angry. They said it was bad because it seemed like Donald Trump Jr. wanted someone to hurt his father.
