The company said they will add more buses because of their emergency plan. But the new buses will only help a little bit near the train station where the New York buses already go. Also, the buses won't start running until Monday. They will also have private bus companies help people get to work from parking lots during the week.

But the company said the bus can only carry about 20% of the train users. So, if there is a strike, they suggest that people who can work from home should do that.

The threat of a strike has already caused problems for travel. Because things are uncertain, public transport has canceled trains and buses for Thursday and Friday to the Shakira concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Both sides met in Washington on Monday with a mediator to talk about solving the problem. The mediator was also there during the talks on Thursday. Colluuri said the mediator suggested they meet again on Sunday morning to continue the talks.

The main issue is raising the pay of train drivers. They want to earn as much as drivers at other train companies in the area. The union says their members earn about $113,000 a year. They say they can agree if the company boss, Chris Koluri, agrees to pay them $170,000 a year on average.
