OpenAI thinks it will give less of its money to Microsoft by 2030 than it gives now.
OpenAI changed their plan this week. The part of the company that makes money will become a special kind of company. But the part that does not make money will still control it.
Right now, OpenAI gives 20% of its money to Microsoft. But a report says that by the year 2030, OpenAI plans to give only 10% of its money to companies it works with, like Microsoft.
Microsoft has given a lot of money to OpenAI. They have a plan until 2030 to share money they earn. Microsoft can also use OpenAI's technology in their own computer programs. And they are the only company that can use OpenAI's services with Azure.
Bloomberg said on Monday that Microsoft has not yet agreed to OpenAI's plan for how it will be set up. Microsoft wants to make sure its investment of billions of dollars is protected.
OpenAI and Microsoft did not answer questions right away.
