OpenAI believes it will give a smaller part of its money to Microsoft by the year 2030 compared to now. This information comes from a report that looked at money papers.
This news comes after OpenAI changed its plan this week. It had a big plan to change how it worked. But now it has a new plan. The part of the company that makes money will become a special kind of company called a public benefit corporation (PBC). But the part that does not make money will still be in charge.
A report says OpenAI shares some money with Microsoft. Now it shares 20%, but by 2030, it plans to share 10% of its money with partners like Microsoft.
Microsoft has given a lot of money to OpenAI. They have an agreement until 2030 to share the money they earn. This agreement also lets Microsoft use OpenAI's technology in its AI products. And, only Microsoft can use OpenAI's special online services on Azure.
Bloomberg said on Monday that Microsoft has not yet agreed to OpenAI's plan for how the company will be set up. Microsoft is a big company and reportedly wants to make sure the new plan protects its large investment.
OpenAI and Microsoft did not answer questions right away.
