Mark Zuckerberg and people at Meta thought TikTok was better than Meta.

A report from February 2022 shows talks between Meta leaders. They discuss plans for Facebook and Instagram. In one message, Zuckerberg says Facebook is not the leader anymore. He says TikTok helps friends share the same funny pictures and videos.

Mosseri said Facebook is not the main way people find things now. He thinks YouTube is popular, but TikTok will be bigger soon.

"TikTok uses only videos and it is better than Facebook," said Mosseri.

One study said people watched TikTok more than YouTube in 2021.

Netflix added a new feature on phones this week. You can watch short videos, like on TikTok. It shows videos you might like.

In court, the US government says Meta broke rules. They bought Instagram and WhatsApp. They wanted to be the only big social network. This paper could hurt their case. Meta people said TikTok was much better than Facebook.

For example, Zuckerberg said that many people use Facebook every day or week. But people did not spend the most time on Facebook.

He said TikTok helps friends find things they like together.

The boss said, "It is social. You do not need to send things to friends. They see it. If we can do this on FB, it will be good."

Other managers also gave their opinions.

Will from WhatsApp said TikTok shows you more videos if you comment on one.

Stan said many companies were growing and taking some of Meta's growth.

People use many different apps now, like TikTok and YouTube.

John said TikTok was good for short videos. He said Meta could be good too if people put videos on Reels.

But he was not sure if Meta was behind with technology and tools. Meta thinks Facebook is not the best social media company.
