Bad website 4chan was attacked on Tuesday.
Now, the 4chan website is not working. People on the internet say it is sometimes down for many hours.
Other websites talked about the attack and were happy.
Pictures online showed 4chan's secret part. They showed code and ways to stop users. Only 4chan helpers could see this. The pictures also had names of helpers and people who can delete things. These people cannot see everything like helpers can.
This internet attack might show the people who work on these websites. These websites are important for some political groups.
TechCrunch sent emails to people. One person said the information is true.
"I think that is true," the janitor said.
"I'm surprised," the person who cleans told TechCrunch. "This is a big problem. I am not happy about it. Many people are not happy. We have worked here for a long time. People often share personal information here. We knew this could happen."
The worker said, "The bad information is a problem. Maybe a hacker taking the website is a bigger problem."
The cleaner said the hacker got private information about people who pay to use the website.
4chan did not answer the email.
4chan is a website where people can write things. People don't use their real names. Many people put pictures on the site. Some people put bad pictures there. Sometimes, things from 4chan go to the real world. Sometimes it is funny pictures. Sometimes it is bad ideas that make people do bad things.
Pictures like Pepe the Frog started on a website called 4chan. This website has political talks. Some people there learn bad ideas. A group called QAnon also started on 4chan.
