Figma, a company that makes design software, said on Tuesday that they want to sell parts of their company to people. We will know more when they show their papers, which might happen in about a month.
But because the stock market is very uncertain now, trying to sell shares is surprising, even if you are just thinking about it. Klarna and StubHub, two big companies that wanted to sell shares last month, stopped their plans in April when the market fell because of news about trade taxes. They have not decided on a new date yet.
Figma wants to sell shares to the public, but it might not happen quickly. It usually takes about one to two months after they send in their private papers.
Figma makes computer programs for designers to work together. In May 2024, the company was worth $12.5 billion. This was after they let some owners sell some of their shares. Adobe wanted to buy Figma for $20 billion, but the deal did not happen in 2023. This was because governments in Europe and the US did not agree.
Many different life experiences can help you write better.
Figma said they did not want to say anything more.
