Manchester City has been found guilty.
It broke the Premier League's money rules for almost ten years.
An independent group made this decision.
The possible punishments include a fine, a points deduction, or even being kicked out of the Premier League.
City could also have to pay money to rival teams.
The club is owned by the City Football Group.
Abu Dhabi controls this group.
City says the verdict is wrong.
It promises to work hard to clear its name.
City says it will appeal.
It says it is innocent.
It says there is a lot of evidence to support its position.
To appeal, City would email the chair of the commission's three-person panel.
That chair would pick a new three-person appeal board.
One person on the board must have been a judge.
A hearing should finish within 12 weeks.
It should last no more than five days in a row.
City's punishment will be decided in a separate, private hearing.
The commission could give a warning, a fine, a suspension, a points deduction, or expulsion.
No club has ever been kicked out of the Premier League.
The biggest points deduction was 10 against Everton in 2023.
Later it was cut to six on appeal.
City's rule-breaking was more widespread.
It also included a refusal to cooperate.
The Independent Football Regulator could also step in.
It has the power to remove owners who are not suitable.
