Erling Haaland scored his third goal of the season as Manchester City beat Coventry 1-0 on Saturday.

The win kept City at the top of the Premier League with a perfect record after three games.

Haaland’s 26th-minute header was the decisive moment at the Etihad Stadium.

City has spent more than $600 million rebuilding its squad under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Haaland remains the team’s key player.

Maresca said the win was important and that the team will improve as players get to know each other better.

City signed Enzo Fernandez and Iliman Ndiaye on deadline day, and both started against Coventry.

City is three points ahead of defending champion Arsenal, which plays Chelsea on Sunday.

Newcastle stayed unbeaten under new coach Matthias Jaissle after a late equalizer from Jacob Ramsey secured a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Bournemouth led 2-0 but conceded twice, including Ramsey’s 88th-minute goal.

Tottenham earned its first point of the season with a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest but has yet to score a league goal.

Crystal Palace came from behind twice to beat Fulham 3-2, while Brighton drew 1-1 with Leeds.

Sunderland also drew 1-1 with Brentford.

Fulham coach Alvaro Arbeloa is still waiting for his first win after three straight losses.
