Christiane Amanpour is leaving CNN after 43 years at the network.

She is CNN's chief international anchor.

Amanpour will cut her daily show, "Amanpour," on CNN International to once a week at the start of 2027.

She will end the show at the end of May and leave the network the following month.

In a statement, she said she looks forward to "interesting new projects down the line."

Amanpour, 68, also said she will end her PBS show, "Amanpour and Company," at the end of the year.

She will keep hosting her podcast, "The Ex Files," with her ex-husband, Jamie Rubin, a former U.S. diplomat.

In her statement, she said she had spent many months thinking about the decision and had a few sleepless nights.

She also said she would always support CNN and its history of independent journalism.

She added: "always be truthful, not neutral."

Her exit comes as CNN enters a new era under a new owner, Skydance.

After a yearlong process, Skydance-owned Paramount closed its $81 billion buyout of Warner Bros. Discovery on Oct. 6.

The merger brings two TV news giants, CBS and CNN, under one roof.

Amanpour has also spoken openly about her 2021 ovarian cancer diagnosis and its later recurrence, calling it "the invisible killer."
