Prosecutors stated on Wednesday that a Mississippi man, who had harassed Jennifer Aniston for two years before driving his car through the front gate of the 'Friends' star's Los Angeles house, has been accused of serious crimes: stalking and damaging property.

Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, from New Albany, Mississippi, also faces an additional charge related to the threat of severe physical harm, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman.

Carwyle, who has been detained since his apprehension on Monday, is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday, with bail fixed at $150,000; it remains uncertain whether he has secured legal representation.

Carwyle faces allegations of persistent harassment against Aniston — referenced solely as Jennifer A. by the district attorney — through unsolicited voicemail, email, and social media communications since 2023.

Subsequently, on Monday afternoon in the upscale Bel Air district of Los Angeles, Carwyle reportedly breached her front gate with his vehicle, inflicting significant damage, according to prosecutors. A security guard intercepted him in her driveway prior to the arrival and apprehension by the police.

Law enforcement indicated Aniston was present in her residence during the incident, with no reported injuries, and attempts to elicit comment from her representatives went unanswered initially.

Should Carlyle be convicted of the charges against him, he faces a prison sentence of up to three years.

My office is dedicated to strongly prosecuting people who stalk and terrorize others, making sure they are held responsible, Hochman said in a statement.

According to reports from Architectural Digest, Aniston purchased the midcentury mansion on a 3.4-acre plot for approximately $21 million in 2012.

Having achieved immense stardom during her decade-long tenure on NBC’s “Friends,” Aniston garnered an Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy for her portrayal and has subsequently received nine further nominations. She presently headlines “The Morning Show” on Apple TV+.
