In June, people felt more positive about the economy for the first time in six months. This was because inflation stayed stable, and the US made a temporary trade agreement with China. A report from the University of Michigan showed that consumer confidence went up by 16% to 60.5, even though it's still 20% lower than in December 2024. This increase happened after the US President decided to delay new taxes on goods from many countries and made a short-term deal with China. This has helped to reduce some of the economic worries caused by the trade war. However, US taxes on imported goods are still high compared to the past and will likely affect the economy more in the coming months. People's confidence in the economy is also divided by politics, with Republicans feeling more confident than Democrats. But this month, confidence increased among supporters of all political groups and those who don't support any party. The Federal Reserve will probably see it as a good sign that people expect prices to go down in the future.
