JetZero Inc., a company from California, has announced its intention to build a new factory in North Carolina to make its advanced passenger jet. This project is expected to create over 14,500 jobs in the area in the next ten years. The company plans to put $4.7 billion into a factory at Greensboro's airport to produce its Z4 aircraft, which has a special blended-wing design that is expected to use 50% less fuel than regular airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in this project and have agreed to buy planes if certain conditions are met. The project, which also includes a research center for new materials, could get more than $2.35 billion in financial help from the state and local governments until the 2060s. JetZero plans to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, making 20 aircraft each month. The company will first focus on a commercial plane with about 250 seats and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
