Salesforce is planning to buy Informatica, a company that uses AI to manage data on the internet, for around $8 billion. Informatica's owners will receive $25 for each share, which is about 11% more than the price at the end of last Friday. This purchase will greatly improve how Salesforce handles data. Informatica became a private company in 2015 and then became public again in 2021. Both companies believe in helping businesses use data effectively in the age of AI. Salesforce intends to use Informatica's abilities, especially in areas like government, health, and finance. The deal has been approved by the leaders of both companies and is expected to be completed early in Salesforce's financial year 2027. After the announcement, Salesforce's shares went up slightly, while Informatica's stock increased by 5.7%.
