Stocks in the U.S. went up a little on Wednesday.
The stock market went up today.
Markets went up and down a lot today.
The US and China had important talks in Switzerland. This made people hopeful. But President Trump said he will not lower the taxes on Chinese products. China wants the US to lower the taxes before they have trade talks.
But the Fed says the economy is good now.
The main banker, Jerome Powell, said they can wait to change interest rates.
Powell said, "We don't know many things." People are waiting to see what happens with Trump's trade actions.
This is true because the trade war is changing. The US is talking more about trade with other countries.
The Fed also said it knows the economy is in more danger. This is because of tariffs. Tariffs can make jobs harder to find and make prices go up.
Powell said if prices go up a lot, things might cost more, the economy might be slower, and more people might not have jobs.
This is a big problem for the Fed.
Big companies in the U.S. are making more money than people thought.
Disney's price went up 10.8%. They made more money than people thought. They think they will make even more money. More than a million people now pay for their online TV.
But companies say it is hard to know how much money they will have because the economy is not good.
Marvell Technology stock went down a lot. They moved a meeting to a new time. This is because the economy is not doing well.
The S&P 500 went up. The Dow Jones and Nasdaq also went up.
After the Fed spoke, the price of government bonds went up a little. The 10-year bond was 4.30% and went down to 4.27%.
