In a tragic Air India plane crash where 241 people died, only one person, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, survived. This very rare event has led to many discussions on social media about how seldom such things happen. Reports say that Ramesh was thrown from the plane and, even though he was confused and badly hurt, he managed to walk to an ambulance for help. In recent decades, there have been other similar cases where only one person survived a big plane crash. For example, Cecelia Crocker survived a 1987 crash that killed 154 people, including her family, when the plane's wing hit a light pole during takeoff. George Lamson Jr. also survived a 1985 crash in Reno, and Bahia Bakari survived a Yemenia Airways flight crash near the Comoro Islands in 2009. Also, Jim Polehinke was the only survivor of a 2006 Comair flight crash in Lexington, Kentucky.
