Representatives from Russia and Ukraine met for a second time in Turkey to discuss peace, following recent attacks, including a major drone strike by Ukraine on Russian air bases. Russia presented its conditions for ending the conflict, which Ukraine will review before responding. Russia suggested Ukraine withdraw its forces from four regions Russia annexed in 2022 as a condition for a ceasefire. Other conditions include Ukraine stopping its military build-up, Western countries halting weapon deliveries, and no foreign military presence in Ukraine. Russia also proposed that Ukraine end martial law, hold elections, declare its neutral status, give up its goal to join NATO, reduce the size of its armed forces, and recognize Russian as an official language. Ukraine and Western countries have previously rejected these demands. During the discussions, both sides agreed to exchange the bodies of 6,000 soldiers and establish a group to exchange seriously wounded troops. These talks took place after Ukraine's complex drone attack against Russia, which took a long time to plan and damaged or destroyed many planes at Russian air bases.
