King Charles III gave a speech to the Canadian Parliament. This was unusual. He spoke about Canada being an independent country, especially because the US President had made threats. King Charles said he knows Canada is facing difficult times and that many Canadians are worried. He promised to help protect the French language and Quebec culture, as they are very important to Canada. This was his first visit to Canada as King. It happened when the US President was threatening to put high taxes on Canadian products and complaining about Canada's military spending. He finished his speech by saying Canada is a strong country and plans to work with Europe on defense, without talking about buying from the US.
