Egyptian archaeologists have discovered three tombs from the New Kingdom period (1550–1070 B.C.) in the Dra Abu al-Naga area near Luxor. These tombs contain inscriptions that provide details about their owners, who were important officials. One owner was Baki, a supervisor of grain, and another was "S," who held various roles, including a supervisor at the Temple of Amun and a writer. The third tomb belonged to Amum-em-Ipet, who worked for Amun. Although his tomb was largely destroyed, some images were found showing people carrying funeral items and a banquet. The ministry released pictures of the artifacts and statues found in the tombs. This discovery comes before the Grand Egyptian Museum fully opens this summer, which will display over 100,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts. The Minister of Tourism, Sherif Fathi, stated that this find is a significant scientific and archaeological achievement that is likely to boost cultural tourism.
