Jurors in the Lindsay Clancy trial said Tuesday they could not reach a unanimous decision.

Judge William Sullivan told them to keep deliberating.

The jury is in its fourth day of deliberations in the closely watched case.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, does not deny strangling her three children.

She pleads not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility.

Her lawyers say postpartum psychosis drove her actions.

Prosecutors argue she knew what she was doing.

The jury could convict her of murder or manslaughter, or acquit her.

A conviction could mean life in prison.

If acquitted, a judge could still order her to a mental health facility if she is deemed dangerous.

If the jury cannot reach a verdict, a mistrial could be declared, and prosecutors would decide whether to retry her.

Clancy killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan, ages 5, 3, and 8 months, with exercise bands in her basement.

She then jumped from a window and is paralyzed from the waist down.

Her husband, Patrick Clancy, testified and has said he forgives her.

The trial has focused on maternal mental health after childbirth.
