The father of a 22-year-old college student says his son was killed by police in Pennsylvania after going to the wrong house.
Glen Pysher said his son, Glenwood Pysher IV, realized his mistake and was waiting for friends when officers shot him.
Police in Upper Pottsgrove Township responded to a 911 call about a possible break-in around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Montgomery County district attorney's office said officers found Pysher at the rear of a home and shot him.
The father said his son had visited bars with friends and took a wrong turn in the woods.
He tried to open a door, thinking it was his friend's house, then sat on the back porch and called friends.
The father said his son was on a FaceTime call at 12:32 a.m. and was shot at 12:35 a.m.
He questioned what kind of encounter could have happened in that time.
Police arrived at 12:34 a.m., according to dispatch records.
The police chief declined to release information until the investigation is complete.
Pysher was about to start his senior year at Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey.
His father described him as kindhearted and said he planned to become a history teacher and coach.
The father said police have given the family almost no information, including whether they can retrieve his son's favorite shoes for burial.
