On Monday, the government can send some people back to other countries quickly. They cannot say no first.

The court did not explain why. One judge, Sonia Sotomayor, did not like this. Two other judges felt the same way.

Tricia McLaughlin from Homeland Security said they might send people to other countries soon. She said, "Get the planes ready." She also said it helps keep people in America safe.

But a judge said one plane to South Sudan will not go now.

The people on the plane in May came from Myanmar, Vietnam, and Cuba. They did bad things in America. They could not go back home quickly.

Their lawyer said they could go to prison, be hurt, or die if they return to South Sudan.

A judge in Boston said they can talk about their problems in court. The people are now at a base in Djibouti.

This case is happening now. The government wants to send away many people. These people live in the U.S. but do not have permission.

Abigail Jackson from the White House said the President can make people follow immigration rules. He can also send bad people out of the country. She said the Supreme Court agrees with the President. He can send people who break the law out of our country. This makes our country safe.

Sotomayor said the court's decision is bad. She thinks many people might be hurt or die. She also said it helps the government, even if the government did something wrong before.

She said the government believes it is above the law. It can send people away without telling them first. They cannot say anything. Two other judges agreed with her.

South Sudan is a new and poor country. It has had many fights since 2011. Now, leaders have big problems. This could start another war.

The government is thinking about the paper to decide what to do next.

The court stopped a rule. This rule helped people from other countries. It let them say they would be in danger in a new country. They could say this even if they had no other legal help.

He saw that sending people to South Sudan in May was not right. He told the immigration people to let them speak with their lawyers. The people stayed in a big metal box in Djibouti. It was a difficult place for them and the guards.

The government made plans with countries like Panama and Costa Rica to keep people there. Some countries do not want their own people back from the U.S. In May, some people went to South Sudan. They had less than 16 hours to get ready, Sotomayor said.

Murphy was chosen by President Joe Biden. Murphy said people can go to other countries. But he said people must be able to say they could be in big danger in another country.

The government sent a gay man from Guatemala to Mexico by mistake. He said bad things happened to him there. Then, the government brought him back to the U.S.

The judges had a similar problem. Trump wanted to send people from Venezuela to a bad prison in El Salvador. He said they were in gangs. They could not go to court to fight it.

But the judges stopped people from leaving. They said people need time to ask a court for help before they go.

The court agreed with Trump before. So, his government can stop many people, about one million, from staying in the country.
