Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has promised to continue the Trump administration's strict immigration enforcement, even though there are ongoing protests. This happened after a federal judge issued a temporary order saying it was illegal to send National Guard troops to protests, but then the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stopped that order. The judge's order only applied to National Guard troops, not Marines, who were sent after protests started because of the immigration crackdown. Governor Gavin Newsom, who wanted an immediate stop to troops helping with immigration raids, praised the judge's order. At the same time, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the president's actions, saying he acted within his authority. Protests are still happening across the country, and immigration agents in Los Angeles are setting an example for other areas. Despite this, Secretary Noem has clearly stated that federal authorities will not give up.
