La Corte d'Appello del Nono Circuito degli Stati Uniti ha temporaneamente sospeso un ordine di un giudice federale. Questo ordine chiedeva al Presidente Donald Trump di ridare alla California il controllo delle truppe della Guardia Nazionale, che erano state usate per le proteste legate all'immigrazione a Los Angeles.

In precedenza, il giudice federale Charles Breyer aveva dichiarato che l'invio delle truppe era illegale, perché violava il Decimo Emendamento e andava oltre i poteri di Trump. Il Governatore della California, Gavin Newsom, aveva elogiato questa decisione.
