Ten people in the U.S. are sick because of food. The food had a problem called listeria. A company is taking back some food. The government said this.
A government group is looking into why 10 people got sick after eating food from a company in California. The people who got sick were in California and Nevada. They had to go to the hospital.
The company sold the food in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Washington. You could buy it in shops, hospitals, hotels, small stores, airports, and on planes.
If you eat food with Listeria, you might feel sick soon. You can have a fever, feel tired, or have a stomach ache. You might also have a headache or feel dizzy.
Police started to look into the problem last year. But they did not find where the sickness came from. They started looking again in April. They found the sickness in food from a company. The sickness was the same as in the people who were sick.
Fresh & Ready Foods said it fixed the problem quickly. They took away equipment to help.
Six people got sick and went to the hospital. They ate food from Fresh & Ready Foods at the hospital. The FDA found this.
Doctors took test samples from people who were sick. They took the samples from December 2023 to September 2024.
Fresh & Ready stopped selling some foods. Look for "use by" dates from April 22 to May 19. The names are Fresh & Ready Foods, City Point Market Fresh Food to Go, and Fresh Take Crave Away.
