President Donald Trump spoke on Sunday.
He said Russia and Ukraine agreed to an "energy ceasefire."
He did not give details.
He said it started right away.
Moscow did not say anything at first.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine welcomed the news.
He said it was good for everyone.
But he said Russia was still hitting energy sites in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
He said a power plant in Kharkiv was attacked that evening.
His office said the attack came after Trump's post.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine was ready to stop hitting Russian energy sites.
He said Russia must do the same.
Trump said something similar on Sept. 14.
Nothing happened that time.
On Saturday, Trump said Ukraine needed a new president.
He blamed Zelenskyy for high U.S. diesel prices.
Zelenskyy answered that Ukraine could hold elections.
But Russia must agree to a 60-day ceasefire first.
He said the Ukrainian people choose their leader.
Ukraine has been under martial law since February 2022.
Its constitution says no elections during martial law.
Ukraine also kept hitting Russian infrastructure.
A drone attack on Sunday shut down a Yandex data center in the city of Vladimir.
It was the third strike on Yandex sites in four days.
The outage stopped taxis and banking for users in many Russian cities.
It also affected people in Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia.
In Zaporizhzhia, rescuers stopped work after a Russian bombing on Saturday.
Zelenskyy said 23 people were killed.
Four of them were children.
