Meta is putting $14.3 billion into an AI company called Scale. Scale's CEO, Alexandr Wang, will join Meta's team that works on advanced AI. This is part of Mark Zuckerberg's plan to make Meta's AI better so it can compete with companies like Google and OpenAI. Scale will stay independent, but Meta will own 49% of it, which will make their business relationship much stronger. Wang will move to Meta with a small team but will still be on Scale's board, and Jason Droege will become the temporary CEO. This investment means Scale is now worth more than $29 billion. It's not clear what this deal will mean for Scale's other customers, like big companies such as General Motors and Toyota, and other companies that provide AI models.
