American tennis star Coco Gauff won her second major title at the French Open, a trophy she had wanted for a long time. Gauff beat the top-ranked player, Aryna Sabalenka, after being inspired by Olympic champion Gabby Thomas's method of writing down positive affirmations. Gauff used this approach, writing many times that she would be the French Open champion before the final match. Even though she was not expected to win, Gauff stayed calm and focused during the match, while Sabalenka had trouble controlling her feelings. Gauff has found it helpful to express her emotions before games, which helps her stay calm during matches. After her win, Gauff plans to play in the grass-court season and might participate in a tournament in Berlin before going to Wimbledon.
