Dan and Shay have a new album called "Young."

It is different from their usual wedding songs.

The first song is "Say So."

It is about stopping suicide.

The song honors their late mentor, Ben Vaughn.

He died by suicide one year earlier.

Dan Smyers said he was not sure at first if they should sing about this subject.

The song came together easily in the studio.

Smyers said they owed it to Vaughn and to the community.

He also said they started work on the song on what would have been Vaughn's 50th birthday.

He called that more than a coincidence.

The album is about their own lives.

It is more open with feelings than their past work.

Smyers said men often do not share their feelings well.

He said he is like that too.

The duo wrote a whole album and then threw it away.

After that, they made these 10 songs.

The final album has more religious themes.

One song is called "Her, The Kids and Jesus."

Other songs are about grief and love in different ways.

"Dogs in Our Twenties" is about a first pet.

"The Old Guys" has Cody Johnson in it.

It turns a love song into something different.

Smyers said the two singers' voices meet in the middle.

Mooney said the album has a song for everybody.

It works for whatever they are going through.
