A jury in Las Vegas found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of murder.

The murder happened in 1996.

The victim was rap star Tupac Shakur.

Davis is 63 years old.

He was found guilty on Monday.

The charge was murder with a deadly weapon.

He could go to prison for life.

The jury talked for less than three hours.

The trial lasted for weeks.

Prosecutors said Davis got a gun.

Then he went to find Shakur and Marion “Suge” Knight.

Knight started Death Row Records.

Earlier that night, these men had beaten Davis’ nephew.

Davis did not shoot the gun.

But prosecutors said he was a gang leader.

They said he called for the gunfire.

Defense lawyer Michael Sanft said there was no physical proof.

He said nothing connected Davis to the shooting.

Shakur was in Las Vegas on Sept. 7, 1996.

A white Cadillac stopped next to him.

Then someone shot at him.

He died six days later.

Prosecutors say four men were in the Cadillac.

Davis is the only one still alive.

He spoke publicly about the case.

He also wrote a book.

In the book, he said he was at the scene.

Shakur’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, cried after the verdict.

She hugged the prosecutors.

Davis’ son covered his face with one hand.

The judge will decide the sentence in October.

Hip-hop fans waited for this case for many years.

Six months after Shakur died, the Notorious B.I.G. was killed.

That case is still not solved.
