The Sun, initially breaking the story, alleges that producer Abe Diaw reported to the publication his hospitalization following an unprovoked assault by Brown at Tape nightclub, located in London's upscale Mayfair district in February 2023, during Brown's UK tour.

The tabloid claimed to have ascertained Brown's presence in the UK on Wednesday, prompting them to alert the police to verify his potential detention. The paper further alleged that officers from the Metropolitan Police travelled to Manchester and executed the arrest.
