Singer Cassie had to read her private messages to her ex-boyfriend Diddy in court. These messages talked about sex and drugs, which she said made her feel bad.
Combs' lawyers told people that Cassie wanted to be part of Combs' life. Combs says he is not guilty of the charges. His lawyers say he was sometimes violent, but he did not do anything really bad.
The police say he used his job in music to make Cassie and other women have sex with other people for a long time. These events are called "freak-offs." Combs says the sex was okay with everyone. He is also said to have used his friends and workers to help with illegal things, like driving people for sex work. This is a big part of the police case.
The court heard messages between Combs and Cassie. Some messages were about love. The court read messages that Combs wrote. Cassie read her own messages. Cassie will speak in court again on Friday.
Combs is 55 years old. He is in jail since September. If he is found guilty, he may stay in jail for 15 years.
Cassie said she did things to make Combs happy. But Estevao has messages that show Cassie liked the things they did and wanted to do them again.
In August 2009, Combs asked when she wanted to meet again. She said she was always ready. Two days later, Cassie sent a message. He was happy to get it. She said she wanted it to be wild.
But later, she told Combs she was not happy. She wanted more than just sex from him.
Estevao said that in July 2013, Cassie sent a message to Combs that said, "I wish we could have had fun before you left."
In 2017, Cassie said in a message to Combs: "I love when we both want our time together." Cassie said on Thursday that "loving time together" was just words then.
Cassie said the jury did not hear everything about the messages. She said, "We missed a lot."
Cassie's lawyer showed her some messages she sent to Combs before they met in 2016 at a hotel. At the hotel, Combs kicked and pulled her. Cassie said she wanted to meet him to make Combs happy and not cause problems before a movie event.
Estevao said Cassie was angry with Combs. She was also jealous because he looked at other women. Cassie said Combs did not want her to see other people, but he could see other people.
Cassie said she wanted to be closer to Combs after some years. But he did not want that. They were together from 2007 to 2018.
Estevao asked questions nicely. She and Cassie talked like friends sometimes.
Cassie is 38 years old and will soon have her third baby. She talked in court. She cried a few times when people asked her questions, but she was mostly calm when she spoke about hard things.
Combs listened to the messages and looked calm. He sat with his hands together and legs crossed. Many people were in the room: his family, friends, reporters, and Cassie's friends and husband.
Combs was resting. He stood with his lawyers at the table. He had paper and a pen. He said "How you doing?" to some people. His daughters were not there.
The people in the jury looked at the screens. They saw messages. One woman did not like a message. A man looked closely and touched his chin. Some people looked at Cassie or wrote notes.
The police talked about Combs wanting Cassie to sleep with other men. Cassie said she watched Combs sleep with other women sometimes. She said he called it a "swingers life."
Estevao asked Cassie if she thought those parties were about that life.
Cassie said: "It's about love." Then she said: "They are not the same."
Cassie said that Combs really liked to watch people in a way where he was in charge. These private times were often in dark hotel rooms, not like his big parties with famous people.
She said she drank special water to feel better after the meetings. Later, she needed strong medicine because it made her feel nothing.
Cassie spoke about her time with Combs. What she said now was not the same as before. Before, she said there was violence and she felt bad about the many times she had sex with Combs.
Cassie said on Wednesday that Combs hurt her in 2018 when they stopped being together. She said he was mean to her all the time and said he would show videos of her.
In 2023, she said Combs hurt her. She said it happened many times. They made a deal for $20 million. Other women then said the same thing. The police started to look into Combs. This month, there is a trial.
